A 19-year-old man has been formally charged with murder in the death of an Aurora woman found dead in her home last week.
Mike Westerfield Jr. appeared in court Monday in Arapahoe County.
He is being held without bond in the death of Kimberly Kay Smith, 45, who was found dead Feb. 3 in her Aurora apartment.
Few details have been released about how and when police believe she died.
Westerfield was arrested Thursday near Franklin Street and 18th Avenue in Denver.
Smith’s body was found after Aurora officers went to an apartment in 100 block of North Oakland Street on a report of an unknown problem.
Officers entered the apartment and, once inside, found Smith.
