University of Colorado senior long jumper Hugh Charles, who was the starting tailback for the Buffaloes’ football team, will be in Boston on Sunday for the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Charles has the seventh-best mark in the field at 25 feet, 3 1/4 inches, a leap he made Feb. 2 at Air Force.

The top three long jumpers in Boston advance to the IAAF World Indoor Championships March 7-9, in Valencia, Spain.

UNC reloads soccer team.

The Northern Colorado women’s soccer program signed three players who will enroll for fall semester.

Ariel Cook, a forward, and Kimberly Feidler, a midfielder and defender, are from Gilbert, Ariz., and played on the same club team. The Bears also signed goalkeeper Kirstin Salminen of Lynden, Wash.

Falcons shine on still rings.

Air Force gymnasts Greg Stine and Jacob Schonig are ranked in the top 10 nationally in the still rings. Air Force and second-ranked Penn State are the only men’s teams with two gymnasts in the top 10 in the event.
