Canada’s Jasey Jay Anderson wins snowboard parallel giant slalom World Cup title

GUJO, Japan—Jasey Jay Anderson of Canada won a snowboard parallel giant slalom event Sunday, beating Roland Fischnaller of Italy.

Anderson won his first World Cup title of the season and moved up into eighth place in the World Cup parallel standings after receiving 1,000 points for the win.

Teammate Matthew Morrison was third while Mathieu Bozzetto of France, who leads the overall standings, finished 28th.

In the women’s event, Nicolien Sauerbreij of the Netherlands took top honors after defeating Julia Dujmovits of Austria.Sauerbreij won her third parallel event of the season and leads the standings with 6,400 points.
