GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Two Bookcliff Middle School students in Grand Junction could face criminal charges after police say one of them was caught selling marijuana.
Authorities say a school resource officer arrested the teenagers Wednesday morning. A male teen was accused of selling the drug, while a 14-year-old girl was allegedly found to be in possession of pot.
Their names are not being released.
Police say they’ve turned the case over to the Mesa County District Attorney’s office, but that the teens were issued citations that will require them to appear in court.
School District 51 officials say the teen who allegedly sold marijuana would face automatic expulsion if found guilty.
The girl could face suspension or expulsion.
