Aurora police are still untangling the circumstances that led to a 19-year-old man walking into a 7-Eleven in east Aurora seeking help after being shot three blocks away.
Police aren’t identifying the victim or a male suspect in the shooting nor a female accomplice.
Police arrived at a parking lot in the 1000 block of South Zeno Way at about 9 p.m. after reports of gunshots. They were told the victim was at the convenience store nearby at Mississippi Avenue and Tower Road.
The victim said a man and woman had tried to rob him. Before he was taken to the hospital, he saw the man he contends shot him driving through the convenience-store parking lot and told police.
The accused shooter is in jail without bail on charges of first-degree attempted murder and aggravated robbery.
