Got bad fly-fishing habits you want to break? Three members of Fly Fishing Team USA — Brian Capsay, Riley Cotter and Mike Sexton — will tell you how Saturday at the Colorado Springs Fly Fishing Show.
The trio will tell their secrets in sessions at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. At 10:30 p.m., Doug Krieger, senior biologist with the Colorado Division of Wildlife, will report on fishing prospects for the region. At noon, Barry Reynolds will deliver insights on fishing for pike, bass and carp.
The free event will be at Angler’s Covey Fly Shop, located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 24 and 26th Street, phone 719-471-2984.
Crane festival.
The 25th annual Monte Vista Crane Festival, Friday through Sunday, will highlight the visit by an estimated 25,000 greater sandhill cranes to the San Luis Valley. Free guided tours will be organized from a meeting place at the Ski Hi Park building near Colorado 160 on County Road 4E east of Monte Vista.
