DENVER—The 2008 session of the Legislature is nearly half over, and Republicans are accusing majority Democrats of punting on the big issues.
GOP leaders said Tuesday that Democrats didn’t take much action on health care, transportation or education after committees appointed by Democratic Governor Bill Ritter came up with expensive recommendations.
Democrats are pointing to a host of bills addressing health care, transportation and education.
They include measures to provide preschool and kindergarten for 22,000 more children, provide $1 billion to repair and rebuild schools, encourage homeowners to install renewable energy and provide health care to 50,000 more children.
