A man and a woman were killed and another man was seriously injured after a head-on collision in rural Weld County on Thursday night, authorities say.
Diane R. Bouck and Douglas A. Bouck, both 42, of Otis were killed in the 7:35 p.m. collision on Colorado 34, said Gilbert Mares, spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.
Jose G. Villanueva, 27, of Fort Morgan was taken by helicopter to Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley in serious condition, Mares said.
Authorities believe one of the drivers was intoxicated at the time of the collision, he said.
Villanueva was driving a black 1991 Nissan Pathfinder west on Colorado 34 when he veered into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on into the 1998 Ford Mustang occupied by the Boucks, he said. The Pathfinder spun and caught fire.
The Weld County coroner pronounced the Boucks dead at the scene, Mares said.
The case is under investigation.
