DENVER—Denver police have released surveillance video of an attempted purse snatching, and are asking for the public’s help to find the perpetrator.
Police say a woman was walking on a sidewalk in lower downtown at about 10 p.m. Tuesday when a man approached her and tried to grab her purse.
The woman refused to let go. She fell to the ground and was dragged several feet along the sidewalk.
The suspect is seen on the video trying to cut the purse strap, but the woman still refused to surrender the purse.
The man eventually gave up and ran away. The woman got up and started walking in the opposite direction.
Police hope someone might recognize the suspect and notify them.
Authorities say they’re concerned about the violent nature of the incident.
