MINNEAPOLIS—A 41-year-old Colorado man has been sentenced to 90 days in prison and one year of probation for assaulting a Northwest Airlines flight attendant.
Gregory Thomas Abeyta of Colorado Springs was sentenced Tuesday in Minneapolis federal court for misdemeanor simple assault.
An FBI affidavit says Abeyta was on an Oct. 27 flight from Colorado Springs to Minneapolis when flight attendants stopped serving him alcohol because he was behaving badly.
The affidavit says Abeyta asked for more drinks and yelled profanities. A flight attendant was shoved after sitting next to Abeyta to calm him.
Passengers helped cuff Abeyta’s hands and wrists. The affidavit says Abeyta pushed, shoved and swung at passengers and crew while shouting obscenities.
