Denver International Airport continued its streak of record-setting traffic, with nearly 3.8 million passengers using the airport in January.
While that was a record for the month, the traffic growth at DIA has slowed since 2006, with the January figure marking a 1.6 percent increase, compared with the same month a year earlier.
“I think we’re beginning to see the effects of the airlines’ efforts to trim costs by reducing capacity wherever they can,” said DIA’s new manager Kim Day in a statement. After several months of double-digit growth in 2006 and 2007, “I think DIA can continue to expect slow but steady growth in the future.”
