PUEBLO, Colo.—A 47-year-old Pueblo man has been ordered to stand trial in the 2001 death of a man whose bones were discovered by a pet dog.
Charles Earl Gross is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 45-year-old Mark Kaskel. Gross’ trial is scheduled for August.
Searchers found the remains in January after a dog returned home with a human jaw bone.
Deputies say some of the bones were found under a mobile home where Gross once lived and others were found in a barrel at his current home.
Investigators say Gross told them he shot Kaskel after Kaskel attacked him.
