A woman who reported that she had been tied to shelving in a Hobby Lobby and sexually assaulted lied about the incident and has been arrested for false reporting, Broomfield police said this morning.
Police went to the store at 5101 W. 120th Ave. before it opened on Feb. 20 after someone called 911 and hung up. They found a rear door open and Lori Koehler, 38, an employee, inside tied to shelving. “One hand was tied to shelving,” said Broomfield police spokeswoman Sgt. Colleen O’Connell.
Koehler told police a man had entered the store, bound her to the shelving and raped her.
“After a lengthy police investigation, it has been determined that this report is false,” according to a Broomfield police release.
Koehler was arrested and taken to Broomfield County jail this morning.
