Most Coloradans had never met her, but thousands felt as if they knew Leslie Fishbein.
She came into our homes nightly for years with her many commercials for her company, Kacey Fine Furniture. Her smiling face was one of the most recognizable in Denver.
Her death Wednesday will leave a hole not only in the metro area’s business community, but also in its important philanthropic community.
Fishbein, along with her husband and business partner, Sam, was known as a generous corporate citizen. To her friends and family, of course, she was so much more. “Her vibrancy, warmth and humor are what her friends and family will miss most,” said Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, a longtime family friend. “Those of us who knew and loved her were better for it, and the city of Denver was a brighter place with Leslie in it.”
Fishbein’s generosity, keen business skills, energy and zest for life will be sorely missed. But her impact on Colorado will endure.
And for that, we’re grateful.
