COLORADO SPRINGS — The death of a Colorado Springs woman has been ruled a homicide, while her estranged husband’s is being classified as a suicide.
Colleen Dwyer, 34, was shot dead in a front yard on Flintridge Square on Wednesday afternoon, with two young children inside the house.
A man found dead nearby has been identified as Russell Dwyer, 39. A pistol was found near his body.
The Dwyers were married but not living together, police said. Russell Dwyer was living at the Flintridge address.
The children, an 18-month-old girl and a 4-year-old boy, are now with their grandparents.
