Hillary Rodham Clinton ended her silence on Barack Obama’s pastor Tuesday, sharply criticizing Obama for not leaving the Chicago church where the pastor made inflammatory remarks about the United States, spread conspiracy theories about the government and made sensational comments about Clinton.

“Given all that we have heard and seen, he would not have been my pastor,” Clinton said Tuesday of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., at a news conference in Greensburg, Pa.

Clinton’s comments, the first she has made since the controversy broke this month, came as Wright, Obama’s pastor of more than 20 years, had been expected to speak publicly Tuesday night for the first time since Obama distanced himself from his remarks. Wright was scheduled to address a church revival in Tampa, Fla., but the event was canceled by church officials, who said it had become a media circus.
