AURORA — Officials have ticketed the driver of a car that struck an Aurora police SUV on its way to a call. Richard Lee Williams, 73, of Englewood was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way to an emergency vehicle, Aurora police said Tuesday.

About 5 p.m. Saturday, Sgt. Walt Obrecht was driving a marked 2007 Ford Expedition police car with lights and siren on headed east on East Colfax Avenue, getting ready to turn left onto Tower Road.

Other cars stopped, but Williams did not, and hit the SUV broadside, police said.
