A water-main break is expected to slow this evening’s rush hour in a section of southeast Denver.
The 12-inch water line that burst on East Yale Avenue, just west of South Colorado Boulevard, is being repaired, but work is expected to carry on into tonight, according to Denver Water.
Westbound traffic on East Yale Avenue is shut down from South Colorado Boulevard to South Harrison Street, Denver Water said.
The Schlessman YMCA, at 3901 E. Yale Ave., does not have water service because of the break.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area, if possible, and take alternate routes.
