It will be sunny, warm and breezy in Denver today with high temperatures climbing to about 70 degrees.
Winds in the Denver area could gust as high as 33 mph today, according to the National Weather Service.
Clouds should start rolling into Denver tonight, bringing a 20 percent chance of showers to the city by tomorrow afternoon.
Tomorrow’s weather should be cooler with a high temperature of 56 in Denver under mostly cloudy skies and winds gusting to 25 mph, the weather service reports.
Thursday night there’s a slight chance of rain and snow showers in Denver before midnight.
In the mountains a westerly weather flow will deliver snow and snow showers to some areas, especially in the northern and central mountains tomorrow, and a chance of snow lingers through the weekend.
Snow accumulations today should be on the light side. Winds, however, are expected to be strong in some mountain areas including valleys.
The chance of snow in the mountains picks up on Thursday and accumulations could reach up to seven inches in the Flat Tops, Elkhead, Park and Gore ranges, the weather service said.
The Vail forecast calls for a slight chance of rain or snow showers this afternoon with a high temperature near 48 degrees. On Thursday the chance of rain mixed with snow increases in Vail and an accumulation of one inch of snow is possible, according to the weather service.
