FORT MORGAN, Colo.—Authorities say a man who may have been trying to outrun a Morgan County brush fire was killed when the tractor he was driving rolled and crushed him.

Morgan County Sheriff James Crone says the man was killed Wednesday afternoon. The victim’s name hasn’t been released.

Officials say it’s not clear how the fire was started but high winds helped it spread.

The fire was extinguished at about 6 p.m.
