Colorado Springs police are investigating two drive-by shootings they say may be related.

The first happened about 8:45 p.m. in the 800 block of West Kiowa Street. Police say a 41-year-old man was shot in the elbow while he was out jogging.

The second happened about 9:00 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Wahsatch Avenue. In that case, a 29-year-old man was shot in the hip as he was walking.

Both victims were treated and released from a local hospital.

Police say the men appear to be random victims.

An older model Honda Civic with a modified muffler may be linked to both shooting, police said in their release.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 444-7000, or Detective Rick Gysin at 444-7500. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP (634-7867).
