AURORA, Colo.—Aurora police say a high school athletic trainer and substitute teacher has been arrested on charges of sexual assault on a 15-year-old student.
Yvette Starzyk surrendered Friday on charges of sexual assault on a child and was being held under $20,000 bail. The 26-year-old Starzyk has no listed phone number, and its not yet known if she has an attorney.
Police say the alleged assaults occurred in 2004 at several off-campus locations. They say the alleged victim, a male, is now an adult.
Aurora Public Schools officials say Starzyk has been fired from her job at Hinkley High School.
Authorities say the investigation began on March 17 when Hinkley officials approached police with concerns about Starzyk.
