The Denver Post Food section swept the food writing category in the Colorado Society of Professional Journalists’ annual award ceremony Friday night.

For arts and entertainment food/beverage writing, Douglas Brown took first place for his “Denial” series, in which he gave up sugar, dairy, salt, meat and wheat.

Kelly Yamanouchi took second for “Finding the Flavor,” her quest for Asian street food in Denver.

Sheba Wheeler’s package on the challenges facing single diners, “Dinner for One,” took third.
