A man walking along Interstate 25 south of the Colorado and Wyoming border early this morning was hit by a vehicle that didn’t stop, the Colorado State Patrol said.

The unidentified hit-and-run victim was taken to the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland where he was in critical condition, the state patrol said.

The state patrol took a call on the incident at about 2:45 a.m.

The man was hit along the northbound lanes about 6 miles south of the state line. It’s not clear why the man was walking along the interstate.

Investigators believe the man was hit sometime after midnight and before 2 a.m., possibly by a Ford F-650 truck. The Ford is missing its front passenger’s turn signal housing, and it may also have some other noticeable front-end damage on the passenger side.

Anyone with information on the incident, or with information on a possible suspect vehicle, is asked to call the state patrol at 303-239-4583.
