KANSAS CITY, Kan.—Scott Sealy poked a left-footed shot into the left corner of the net in the 87th minute, giving the Kansas City Wizards a 3-2 victory over the Colorado Rapids on Saturday.

Jimmy Conrad scored twice in 2 minutes early in the second half for Kansas City (2-0), but Colorado (1-1) tied the game with goals in the 57th minute by Jose Burciaga Jr. and the 68th minute by John DiRaimondo.

Jack Jewsbury had the assist on the game-winner by Sealy, a second-half substitute.

Colorado’s winless streak against the Wizards stands at four matches—two losses and two ties—since a 1-0 win on July 8, 2006. Conrad’s goals—his first in Major League Soccer play since he scored against Chivas USA on June 25, 2006—both came on headers from the penalty spot.

Conrad put his first header over the shoulder of Colorado keeper Bouna Coundoul in the 52nd minute and bounced the second off Coundoul’s left hip into the goal in the 54th. Both came on restarts—a free kick and a corner kick—and Carlos Marinelli had both assists.

Burciaga, traded from Kansas City to the Rapids in the offseason, got Colorado (1-0-1) within 2-1 with a shot from 15 yards out.

DeRaimondo’s tying goal came off a corner kick. He was one of five players who got tangled up in the penalty area, but he managed to get to his feet, take a short pass from Omar Cummings and put the ball past Kansas City goalkeeper Kevin Hartman.
