SEATTLE – After many years of being turned down, Nuggets assistant coach Adrian Dantley will be introduced as an inductee for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Monday.
Dantley was not with the team on Sunday night.
The class will be announced Monday in San Antonio.
Dantley, who made his name with the Utah Jazz, retired in 1991 as the ninth-leading scorer in NBA history with 23,177 points. The Jazz retired his jersey last season. He had been a finalist six times without being inducted.
“I’m very proud of him,” Nuggets coach George Karl said.
