Bond was set for $4,325 today for a man officials say drove a semi while drunk and ran cars off Interstate 70.
The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office says 44-year-old Christopher Brostek of Deland, Fla., eluded deputies until they punctured his tires with a spike strip and took out a wheel.
The scene started between Rifle and Silt and wound more than 25 miles west on I-70, starting at about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.
The semi eventually came to stop, minus a right front wheel, near DeBeque.
No one was injured. Brostek was booked into the Garfield County Detention Facility on preliminary charges of driving under the influence, reckless driving and felony vehicular eluding.
His arraignment is scheduled for later today.
