With their respective host cities facing off in the National Hockey League playoffs, the organizers for the Republican and Democratic national conventions accepted a friendly wager Wednesday.
Democratic National Convention Committee chief executive Leah Daughtry, on behalf of Denver and the Colorado Avalanche, has offered up some Colorado steaks. Republican National Convention president and CEO Maria Cino, on behalf of Minneapolis-St. Paul and the Minnesota Wild, is all in with an assortment of walleye.
The Avalanche makes its home in Denver’s Pepsi Center, while the Wild plays at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The facilities will host the Democratic and Republican conventions, respectively.
