CENTENNIAL — The indictment against Aaron Thompson, charged in the death of his 6-year-old daughter, Aarone, may not be released until April 22.
The Colorado Supreme Court ordered Monday that the court make public the entire indictment after Arapahoe County District Judge Mark Hannen had originally agreed to seal it.
Laurie McKager, administrator for the 18th Judicial District, said Wednesday that Colorado law allows for 14 days after the court’s ruling to consider a petition for a rehearing.
She would not say whether the judicial district would file for a rehearing but said that if the Colorado Supreme Court rules that it must be made public, it would be ready to go April 22.
The Denver Post and The Associated Press filed a lawsuit asking that the entire indictment be made public after a list of the 60 counts was released and not the facts of the case.
Thompson is scheduled for trial June 16. The 60 counts in his indictment include child abuse resulting in death. Aarone’s body has not been found.
