DENVER—The 3.83 million passengers who used Denver International Airport in February set a traffic record for the month of February.

The total continued a string of monthly records at the airport dating back to January 2007.

About 3.52 million travelers passed through the airport in February 2007. This February had an extra day because this is a leap year. Airport officials say that even without the extra day, traffic this February was still 5.1 percent ahead of traffic a year earlier.

The number of flights for the month rose 7.4 percent to 49,410, while the amount of cargo handled at the airport rose 2.1 percent to 45.42 million pounds.
