GRAND JUNCTION —A former Grand Junction first-grade teacher faces sentencing May 29th after a jury convicted her of lying to her attorney, a judge and her probation officer.

Jurors returned their verdict Wednesday in the trial of 42-year-old Tammie Lee Reed. She was charged with three counts of lying to a court official, and four counts of violating bail-bond conditions.

The charges stemmed from her sentencing for methamphetamine possession.

Reed told a judge last summer she needed to be able to travel to Nevada for her daughter’s wedding. But the girl, 17-year-old Casey Carroll of Reno, testified this week that she had no plans to get married.

A judge testified he had made an exception in Reed’s case because of the supposed wedding.

Reed is free on bond.
