COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—One of 14 exotic birds stolen from a Colorado Springs man is back home and the owner believes the person who tipped him off might have information about the others.

David Ball returned home Tuesday to find his back door pried off, clumps of feathers and seeds strewn around and 14 birds worth at least $9,000 gone.

Ball says he recovered a Senegal parrot named Batman Thursday after contacting a woman who told him that a friend received the bird the day of the burglary. The woman said the friend didn’t know it had been stolen.

Ball says he thinks the woman might have information about the rest of the birds.

The birds taken included a blue-and-gold macaw, three blue-throated Amazons and an African Gray parrot.
