An Aurora man died overnight after being shot in the chest.

Police responded to a call of shots fired on the 1700 block of North Clinton Street about 10 p.m.

Officers found a male in his late 20s in the street with a gunshot wound to the upper torso. He was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later, a release said.

Witnesses told police that the killer fired several shots from a vehicle, then drove off.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of family members.
