DENVER—Attorney General John Suthers has asked the Colorado Supreme Court to reconsider its order that a judge make public the indictment in the case of a girl who is missing and presumed dead.

The Denver Post and The Associated Press filed suit after a district judge sealed the 60-count indictment against Aaron Thompson. The Supreme Court ordered the entire document released except for the names of alleged victims of child abuse and sexual assault.

Suthers filed a motion Monday arguing the indictment should remain sealed to “preserve the defendant’s right to a fair trial.”

Thompson is scheduled for trial June 16 on charges including fatal child abuse. The body of his 6-year-old daughter Aarone has not been found.
