Sunny skies today and tomorrow will help usher in warmer weather to Denver and other parts of Colorado.

Denver’s high temperature today should hit about 68 degrees and tomorrow could be even warmer with a high of around 78 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds should be light – up to 8 mph – in Denver today but could gust up to 28 mph in the city tomorrow.

Low temperatures in Denver tonight and tomorrow should dip into the 40s, the weather service said.

On Wednesday the eastern plains could be hit by the season’s first round of severe thunderstorms, the weather service reports.

Moisture moving north out of Texas and Oklahoma colliding with warm air could possibly help spawn tornadoes on Colorado’s plains Wednesday afternoon, the weather service warns.

On Thursday mostly cloudy skies over Denver will bring a 10 percent chance for afternoon showers as the high temperature tops out at about 65 degrees, the weather service said.
