I am trying to find a nutritionist/dietitian to help me plan healthy meals for an entire family. Do you have any suggestions? — Martha Friedrich
There’s a feast of information, as well as a link to locate registered dietitians in your area, on , the American Dietetic Association’s website.
RDs have to complete stringent education requirements to be certified, including a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and an accredited pre-professional experience program. RDs must complete a rigorous professional level exam and maintain ongoing continuing education to keep their credential. Some RDs hold advanced degrees and additional certifications in specialized areas of practice, such as pediatric nutrition and childhood obesity.
Here’s a direct link to the “find a nutrition professional” page:

Or, from the home page of eatright , click on “Food & Nutrition Information” then “National Nutrition Month,” then “Find a Nutrition Professional.” (While March was nutrition month, the ADA hasn’t changed the page yet.)
The website also has such resources as fact sheets on nutrition for kids, weight management, fats and oils; vitamins and mineral supplements.
