WELD COUNTY, Colo.—The State Patrol says one woman is dead and two children are seriously injured after their car was hit broadside by a semi-truck.
Trooper Ryan Sullivan says 28-year-old Colleen Craig from Eaton died at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. The two children in her car are 2-years-old and 10-months-old and were airlifted to the Children’s Hospital in Aurora.
Sullivan couldn’t confirm whether Craig was the mother of the children but says they share her last name. Sullivan says the youngsters were both in their safety seats.
The accident happened at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday on Highway 392 and Weld County Road 35.
The driver of the semi was not injured. Sullivan says the crash happened as Craig was turning onto the highway from County Road 35.
Investigators say drugs or alcohol were not a factor.
