A state Department of Education employee surrendered to federal agents in Idaho on Monday after she was indicted for marijuana trafficking, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Denver.Valencia Darlene Lopez, 36, of Aurora is accused of conspiring with others to distribute 100 kilograms of marijuana from 1993 through April 7. Lopez also faces three counts of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
If convicted, she faces five to 40 years in prison and a $2 million fine.
