JULESBERG, Colo.—A spring storm has been buffeting northeast Colorado with high winds and blowing snow, forcing highway officials to shut down several roads near the Nebraska border.

The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning Friday for five northeast Colorado counties. Westbound lanes of Interstate 76 reopened late Friday morning after being shut down for about two hours.

Much of eastern Colorado is under a high-wind warning, with gusts up to 70 mph reported.

Winter storm and heavy snow warnings have been issued for the northern Colorado mountains.

On Thursday, bad weather was blamed for a slew of accidents and one death.
