What happened on the runway didn’t stay on the runway for a flight from Las Vegas to Fort Collins-Loveland Airport on Sunday.
The daily Allegiant Air flight went about 10 feet beyond the end of the runway, but no passengers or crew were injured and there is no expected damage to the McDonnell-Douglas MD-80 twin-engine jet, said Ty Drage, spokesman for the Loveland Fire Rescue station at the airport.
All 149 passengers and seven crew members got off the plane without incident, he said.
The landing was routine until pilots stopped a little long, Drage said.
“It’s basically just the nose of the plane off the runway,” Drage said.
An airport spokesman said it was too early to know why the pilot overshot the runway.
