Afternoon showers and thunderstorms could rumble through wide parts of Colorado today and Wednesday.
Mostly cloudy skies over Denver today will bring a 20 percent chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms to the city as the high temperature hits about 70 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Winds out of the south and southeast will be mild — between 6 and 9 mph — in Denver today, but winds should change to northerly tonight, increasing the chance for moisture in Denver and along the Front Range, the weather service said.
Denver stands a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight with a low temperature of about 44 degrees, according to the weather service.
Wednesday in Denver, the chance of showers and thunderstorms will remain at about 50 percent under mostly cloudy skies, the weather service reports, and the high temperature should top out at about 63 degrees.
