Florida prosecutors have dropped the drug possession case against Broncos defensive tackle Marcus Thomas.
Assistant Clay County, Fla. State Attorney James Boyle said he could not discuss the reasons Thomas’s case was dropped because the prosecution of a co-defendant, Bryce Carter, is proceeding.
The case was dropped against Thomas last Friday.
Thomas and Carter were arrested in March after a smal amount of cocaine was found in a pickup which Carter was driving. Thomas was a passenger.
The Broncos and Thomas’ agent, Richard Burnoski, stood behind Thomas, saying that Carter admitted the cocaine was his. A gun was also seized from the vehicle, but was registered to Carter, said Charles Truncale, another of Thomas’s lawyers.
