GOLDEN, Colo.—Two Illinois men arrested in Colorado last September have pleaded guilty to illegally killing a bull elk.
Fifty-four-year-old Kimberly Anthony Shrout and his son, 20-year-old Anthony Lee Eugene Shrout, pleaded guilty to several charges, including aggravated illegal possession of wildlife.
A judge in Jefferson County, Colorado, ordered Kimberly Shrout to pay $12,000 in fish and game fines, while Anthony Shrout was ordered to pay $11,050.
The Shrouts are from Lockport, which is about 25 miles southwest of Chicago.
They’re now barred from hunting in Colorado.
