CHEYENNE — The U.S. solicitor general has recommended that the U.S. Supreme Court deny Wyoming’s request to dismiss a lawsuit in which Montana says it’s not getting enough water from the Tongue and Powder rivers, violating an agreement that defines each state’s water share.
Solicitor General Paul Clement told the Supreme Court last week that it should allow Montana to proceed with its lawsuit.
The two rivers flow north across the Wyoming line into Montana.
