CENTENNIAL, Colo.—Jurors have begun hearing arguments on whether a convicted killer should be executed for the shooting deaths of two people, including one who was scheduled to testify against him.
The same jury found Sir Mario Owens guilty last week of first-degree murder in the deaths of Javad Marshall-Fields and Vivian Wolfe.
Unless the jury agrees unanimously on execution, Owens would be sentenced to life in prison.
Marshall-Fields was expected to testify against Owens in another shooting death. Wolfe was Marshall-Fields’ fiancee.
Meanwhile the social networking Web site Myspace.com has taken down a page devoted to Owens. Someone identified as Owens had written on the page that he was “pretty harmless” and asked for people to write to him.
