A former teacher’s aide at Stober Elementary School in Lakewood pled guilty yesterday to a charge of Internet luring of a child, authorities say.

Frank Pierce, 31, of Golden, was arrested by Jefferson County District Attorney investigators in November 2007 following an undercover investigation in which Pierce tried to lure a child into a sexual liaison, said Pam Russell, district attorney spokeswoman.

Pierce met the person he believed was a young teen in a chat room frequented by kids, Russell said.

Pierce used sexually explicit language online to someone he believed to be an underage teen, but who was actually an undercover DA investigator, she said.

Pierce was also a girls’ basketball coach in a youth recreation league.

He will be sentenced Aug. 8, facing up to six years in prison.
