The Civil Air Patrol searched today for a twin-engine Cessna carrying two people that did not arrive Sunday in Fort Collins as planned, authorities say.

The plane took off Sunday from Animas Airpark in Durango and landed in Hayden, where the pilot, who has not been identified, picked up his father and began a second flight to Fort Collins.

The family of the two missing persons — whose names have not been released — called authorities Sunday when the plane did not arrive, said Col. Edward Phelka of the Civil Air Patrol.

The patrol is collecting and analyzing radar and cellphone data for clues as to where the aircraft may be, Phelka said. At least three planes have been involved in the search.
