A federal judge has ruled that county critic Mike Zinna does not have sufficient evidence to support his claim that Jefferson County infringed on his First Amendment rights.

But U.S. District Court Judge Richard Matsch allowed Zinna to enter additional information in his separate case against Jeffco Commissioner Jim Congrove, who was chairman of the county board when the case was filed in 2006.

Zinna has contended the Board of County Commissioners and Congrove have interferred with his constitutional rights through a “wide-ranging pattern of acts” meant to retaliate against him for speaking at meetings and seeking public records.
