LOVELAND, Colo.—A Loveland man faces sentencing in July for his alleged role in a murder-for-hire plot targeting his wife, though he maintains he’s innocent of the charges against him.
Forty-two-year-old Stephen Accomando entered an Alford plea in a Fort Collins courtroom Wednesday to being an accessory to the crime of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. With the plea, Accomando does not admit guilt, but acknowledges enough evidence exists that a judge or jury could convict him.
Accomando was accused of plotting with stepbrother James Henderson to kill his wife, Paulette Accomando. The alleged plot came to light after police say Henderson threatened to commit suicide in December.
Stephen Accomando faces a sentencing range of probation to up to 10 years in prison.
