A group that includes the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association and American Lung Association kicked off a campaign Tuesday to make Denver International Airport entirely smoke-free indoors.
DIA has a number of bars and restaurants that are specially designated to allow smoking.
The health group said smoking in restaurants and bars exposes employees to secondhand smoke. Smoke- free airports also avoid the cost of installing and maintaining special ventilation systems for smoking areas, the group said.
